kathleen and i, sledding in brooklyn seven months ago.
did anyone mention it's hot here in new york? i don't think anyone mentioned that to me when i said i was moving to new york--of course, i didn't give them much chance--having just gone and bought a one-way ticket two weeks out.
there are things about summer in new york that i've gotten used to--like that strange sensation of leaving the house knowing i'd return after midnight and still not bringing a sweater or jacket. like there being absolutely no option but to wear tank tops and sandals every day. sleeves and socks simply have no place in this insane climate.
but there is simply no getting used to the intensity and duration of this heat and humidity.
ah, what i would give right now to want to wear leg warmers!
