hgtv: brooklyn kitchen part 2

in response to anonymous' request, here is what the kitchen looks like, classroom ceiling hiding, so you can insert a tin ceiling in with your imagination and the below photo. by the way, we will be taking that not-great-with-silver cream color off the walls too.
any further suggestions from the peanut gallery? all white paint? turquoise window trim? i'm happy that the retro schoolhouse lamp is tied for first place, as it was my favorite. still looking at your suggestions, though.
and then, for my final insecurity, am i crazy to paint the ceiling silver? a lot of people paint theirs white. the only reason i waver is i'm afraid to cut out any light. thoughts?

You're kitchen is so neat and tidy, not to mention ADORABLE. After seeing your pics during the bedbug fiasco, guess I just assumed a cozy, messy abode(no offense meant). The ceiling is absolutely stunning, worth the ordeal of unearthing it. I don't have an artistic bone in my body so would not presume to advise on interior design, only to suggest the most simple lamp design, in- keeping with the era so as not to detract from the awesome ceiling. Oh yeah, and the lightest shade of silver paint.

Your kitchen as it is, is really pretty! I do have to say that I like the idea of turquoise window trim AND a silver ceiling. But ultimately, yes, you might lose some light. Hmmm...

After much pondering, i still like the like the 'schoolhouse' model, but the third one might cast more light upward...as for the walls, I agree that the yellow will likely clash with the silver/grey tones of the ceiling.
Good Luck!!!
